The study, which surveyed executives from large B2B manufacturers and distributors, reveals that while most companies have made progress in creating “Amazon-like” experiences, significant challenges remain. These include difficulties integrating new solutions with existing systems, inadequate technology infrastructure, and complexities in managing customer data. Search and discovery functionality is an area of particular concern, with most respondents rating their current capabilities as only somewhat effective. Furthermore, the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in eCommerce is growing, but companies face challenges in implementation, particularly in terms of skilled personnel and data quality.
